**URGENT ISSUE**
NEW EU REGULATIONS concerning the movement of pet animals throughout Europe:
VDSV informed the Congress of the decision of the European Commission to require all pet owners
travelling with more than 5 (five) animals to obtain the same health transport document as for commercial
transport. This decision has disastrous consequences for sled dog sports, but also for other dog-related sports
and activities. The ESDRA and IFSS have set up a work group to contact the European Commission on this
issue, and to try to organize concerted efforts for all actors in the dog sports world to rescind this decision.
